Here are some pictures from the trip to Japan that Kris and I recently took.  We've divided the pictures according to each place we visited.  Clicking on the pictures here will take you to a page dedicated to each place.
A whirlwind tour of Osaka
Visiting temples and shrines in Kyoto
Hiroshima Peace Park and Peace Memorial Museum
The ancient capital city of Nara

Kayla stayed in California with her Grandma Susan and Grandpa Hal, enjoying time with her Uncle Matt as well.  We only had a week there, and managed to pack it pretty full.  All in all, a great experience.  Next time we'll probably want to learn more of the language.  Difficult to be sure, but definitely worthwhile.

It would be hard to pick out just one highlight.  We were fortunate enough to enjoy a great guided tour of Osaka offered by our new friend Nobu, introduced to us by Kris' brother John.  We were amazed at some of the treasures we saw in the various temples and shrines we visited.  We were deeply moved by the things that we saw and learned in Hiroshima.  Probably most of all, we were touched by the people we met while there.  A number of folks went out of their way to make us feel welcome and comfortable.  In the end, that's essential to any great trip.
