Things have been very busy for us in 2003. Kayla spent a week at Grandma Susan and Grandpa
Hal's.
Paul went to pick her up there, and they celebrated
Uncle Matt's 342nd birthday. Kris and Paul continued their
marathon training. They ran
Grandma's
Marathon in Duluth MN together on June 21st, and Paul ran
the
Wings of Gold Marathon on Whidbey Island (WA) in early April.
Kris completed the Portland Marathon in October as well.
We enjoyed
a nice vacation in Hawaii with Grandma and Grandpa Solem
during April. Grandma Susan and Grandpa Hal have spent
Memorial Day and
July 4th with us in
Washington. It's been lots of fun spending time with them.
Autumn saw us taking some
trips to California, and
spending more
time with family here at home. Paul took trips with each
of the girls too. He and Kayla went to
Mount
Rainier and Mount Saint Helen's. He and Rachel took a trip
to the
Oregon Coast.
The girls continue amaze us with their intelligence,
resourcefulness, creativity, and curiosity. Kayla is always
singing songs and telling stories. She spent the summer at day camp,
and has started school. Rachel wants to do everything for herself,
has picked up lots of words recently, and is beginning to sing
songs. The holidays were lots of fun for
us. We welcomed Grandma Susan, Grandpa Hal, and Uncle Matt,
and enjoyed relaxing with family and spending time with friends. |
