The girls are enjoying school a lot, and have done a
couple of kid's triathlons too! Kayla reads everything in
sight (especially Harry Potter and the Warriors series), continues to have fun in Taekwando,
is beginning another stint with the excellent
Girls on the Run
program, and is part of a Christmas production with
Studio East.
Rachel has been playing soccer and is beginning swimming lessons
again. She's beginning to read a bit, enjoys fairy tales and
singing songs, and has just celebrated her fifth birthday.
Grandma and Grandpa Solem visited
us in February. Paul's cousin Sandy visited from New Jersey
over Memorial Day weekend. And we took a midwinter break trip
to the New York area. We moved
and sold the Pondhouse in the
spring.
This year, Paul has completed four marathons :
New Orleans,
central
Washington, South Dakota,
and most recently Utah
(his fastest yet!).
Kris has completed two half-iron triathlons (one
in Sunriver Oregon and another in Spokane Washington - each
improving her personal-best time). Paul traveled to Egypt on
business in December - you can see the pictures from his trip
